About an hour’s train journey from Prague lies the small town of Sedlec. The town itself is far from extraordinary, but its church has been luring in visitors from all over the world for years now.
Churches can be beautiful buildings, but in Europe they’re ten a penny, so there’s rarely the need to make a long journey to see one, but Sedlec’s is decorated like no other.
The inside is festooned with the bones of thousands of people, which is something of an eerie spectacle.
Museum Mutterings has produced a detailed account of the history of the place, whilst Weird Shit has created a humorous and unique account.
Without further a do, here’s the bare bones of the church’s idiosyncratic decorations.
